CLEAR THE CLOG, A STRESS RELEASING PRACTICE

During this extended weekend, a physical practice will smooth any tension in the physical body, and coupled with meditation (mindfulness and yoga Nidra), will unlock the inner tension of emotional blocks, and deep tensions created by stress.

We will explore the whole range of yoga asanas, especially the postures in relation with the muscles, especially the psoas, this deep-seated core muscle connecting the lumbar vertebrae to the femur. The psoas major is the biggest and strongest player in a group of muscles called the hip flexors, and intimately involved in basic physical and emotional reactions.

Through the practice, we will cultivate a safe yoga practice, develop our awareness to smooth the tensions in this muscles group, and make consciously the choice to sending relaxing messages to this area. A chronically tightened psoas continually signals to our body a danger message, which leads eventually to exhaust the adrenal glands and the immune system.

Combine with yoga Nidra, a simple but very effective technique of deep relaxation, we will deepen the experience of a body and mind out of tensions, and free of stress.

Beginners or advance practitioners, you will benefit from this experience on many levels. By knowing how to release the psoas (and muscles in general) and cultivate an aware practice, you will allow the front and the back of your thighs to lengthen and your leg to move more independently from the pelvis. As a result, you will enhance and deepen the lift of your entire torso and heart. You will feel more grounded, thanks to your flexible and strong psoas, your subtle energies will flow more freely through your bones, muscles and joints.

Program of the day:

  • Morning yoga session, followed by meditation, then breakfast
  • Free time until 5pm to rest and relax, to discover the surroundings, or to taste the delights of the local cuisine
  • Evening session

When: November 01-04 – we will work together from Thursday evening to Sunday morning, so, it’s better if you arrive on Wednesday. If you want to stay longer, just inform me in advance (10€ / extra night / person) – As Wednesday is Halloween, and because Spanish people love it, Velez-Malaga become a very interesting and colorful city for the day. If you are already there, think about make-up, witch costume, and a good laugh 😉

Location: Casa Pantha, Velez-Malaga (Spain). Our small town is about 35 km from Malaga Airport, and only 5 km to the nudist beach. The village is easily reachable by bus (direct from Malaga).

Because David’s style is enhanced by his experience as an Ayurveda Practitioner and Yoga therapist, all classes, from a restorative/relaxing approach to the more powerful and challenging practice, are designed according to the students’ levels and needs (especially during Yoga Therapy individual sessions).
